First Year Student Orientation

Important Dates

Orientation Registration

Registration for orientation sessions will open in the spring. Students will register at cor.ucsd.edu by the end of May. All new students will receive emails with information on how to register.

Orientation Part 1: Academic Advising Webinars

These webinars will help prepare you for academics at UCSD with information on course registration, academic plans, transfer and AP/IB credits, and much more. You'll be able to get your advising questions answered and get to know our ERC academic advisors. These sessions will be offered in early August with information on registration to be sent out as we approach that time.

Orientation Part 2: In-Person Orientation

In-person orientation sessions will be offered from September 18 – 24, 2024. This will be during move-in for housing and during welcome week. Students should select an orientation session that does not interfere with any travel plans. In-person sessions are mandatory for incoming students. The in-person sessions offer opportunities to connect with other students, get oriented with the community, and participate in engaging activities.

INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS

If you are a new International Student, additional programs may be required. iOrientation is designed to help orient you to the UC San Diego campus community, inform you of your F1/J1 rights & responsibilities, and give you an opportunity to connect with other new international students.

BLACK, LATINX, & NATIVE AMERICAN FAMILY ORIENTATION

Separate from the mandatory college orientations, this family orientation weekend delivers tailored programming for Black, Latinx, and Native American students and their families.

Learn to thrive on campus and in the backcountry through Outback Adventure's Wilderness Orientation (WO). This supplemental orientation program will help you learn life skills, make lasting friendships, and unplug before starting school at UCSD.
