MMW California Seminar

MMW California (CA) Seminar is a small-group experiential program that combines a two-week immersive summer experience in California's Sierra Nevada and San Jacinto mountain ranges with a specially-designed MMW-015 or MMW-122 seminar in the academic year.

Through firsthand engagement with national and state parks, forests, and wilderness areas, students explore the complex relationships between human and environmental landscapes.

History

In Summer 2026, MMW and UCSD’s Outback Adventures partnered to offer the new experiential opportunity, the MMW California (CA) Seminar. The program was taught remotely in Weeks 1, 2, and 5, with the on-site experiential component in Weeks 3 and 4 during Summer Session I 2026.
