Academic Advising

Current students can submit a brief question 24 hours a day through the Ask a Question tab in the Virtual Advising Center. An advisor will respond within three working days (and often sooner).

Important note: Response times may exceed three working days during enrollment periods and/or observed campus closures.

Drop-in visits for current students are designed to last 10-15 minutes to ask quick questions of your advisors.  These topics may include, but are not limited to:

• Degree audit checks and corrections
• Review of current course schedule
• Review and signing of forms including those from Programs Abroad, Financial Aid, and International Students and Programs Office
• Enrollment questions
• Academic questions not involving a long-term plan

Zoom Drop-In Advising: Please go to the Meet with Advisor tab in the Virtual Advising Center (VAC) to sign-in and receive a zoom link to meet with your academic counselor.

Appointments are available Week 3 through Week 10 of the Quarter for current students in 30 minute increments. Typical matters for appointments include:

• In-depth exploration of major options
• Development of a long-term plans
• Academic difficulty and/or other matters which may require a referral
• Discussion of experiential opportunities (internships, research, etc.)

To schedule and appointment, go to the Meet with Advisor tab in the VAC, select Eleanor Roosevelt College, and click on the schedule appointment link. 

**NOTE: We do not schedule long-term planning appointments for First Year students until the Winter Quarter and all students should meet with their major department before scheduling with ERC. See our Creating an Academic Plan guide to get started.**
