Freshmen Family Orientation

Family orientation is an opportunity to welcome parents to the ERC and the greater campus community and to initiate relationships involving parents, the University, and the College supportive of students' needs.

Our family orientation program also provides information that can assist the family with the student's and family's transition, including:

  • The college system and UCSD's educational expectations
  • Information about student development and anticipated evolution of the parent-student relationship
  • Availabilityof student services and support networks for students
  • Introduction to college staff and campus contacts
  • Awarenessof the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA)

To register for a family orientation session, your son or daughter must register you when he/she registers for his/her own orientation session.
