Transfer Student Orientation

Congratulations on selecting Eleanor Roosevelt College at the University of California, San Diego for your college experience. Although you have attended a college or university before, we look forward to your participation with transfer orientation.  The transfer orientation program is highly recommended and considered a vital part of your transition to the University of California, San Diego. The transfer experience at Eleanor Roosevelt College is positive and enriching, both academically and socially. Our program seeks to promote this by exposing transfer students to important resources and services available on campus. In addition, new students will have an opportunity to meet current Eleanor Roosevelt College transfer students and learn the "survival" secrets from the pros!

Orientation is an essential program for all Fall 2010 transfer students. All transfer students are encouraged to attend. You will receive detailed information about orientation, and how to register for an orientation session in late June. The new student gateway newstudent.ucsd.edu will open sometime after you receive the instructions about how to register. There are three orientation sessions in September:

This session will host breakout sessions for the following majors: Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Psychology, and Mechanical Engineering.

Wednesday, September 8, 2010

This session will host breakout sessions for the following majors: Anthropology, International Studies, Political Science, History and Sociology.

Monday, September 20, 2010

This session will host breakout sessions for the following majors: Communications, Economics, Literature, Bioengineering, Chemical Engineering, and Structural Engineering.

We do not offer a family orientation program for family members of transfer students. Instead, we invite you to join us at UC San Diego Family Weekend, October 22-24, 2010, Parents and Families.
