Jane Hett Study Abroad Scholarship

Summer 2020 and Fall 2020 StudyAbroad Only

Application Site: Academic Works

Application Cycle: January 15-March 1, 2020

Thanks to the generosity of the family and friends of former ERC Dean of Student Affairs Jane Hett and other friends of the college, ERC is able to offer a few study-abroad scholarships each year, usually ranging between $500 and $1,000. Any ERC student in good academic standing is eligible to apply. ERC academic counselors and staff in the Programs Abroad Office at International Center can help you in identifying and selecting an appropriate study abroad program.

While all students may apply, priority consideration will be given to students who demonstrate the highest need for financial aid.

Factors considered in awarding the scholarships include:

  • how your academic program, performance, and goals relate to your study-abroad plans
  • whether the program you choose will provide educational experiences you otherwise might not have
  • the extent to which financial need is a factor in whether you will study abroad
  • how you might effectively share your experience upon returning to ERC

Normally ERC scholarships will be awarded for participation in an academic program or a service or field experience; both EAP and OAP programs qualify. If you are receiving financial aid, an ERC award would become part of your aid package and might reduce your need for loans.
