
Ticketing Exceptions Information
For graduates with very exceptional circumstances, exceptions may be requested. Written exception requests (with supporting documents) will be accepted via e-mail by 12 midnight, Friday, April 10, 2009 to commencement@ucsd.edu or mailed to:

Students will be notified in writing via e-mail of the decision of the committee by April 24, 2009.
The following exceptions will be considered by the committee:
- Student has worked/lived in a college environment other than his/her home college for two years.
Student must provide documentation from Residential Life office or college supervisor confirming two-year period. Documentation must be on University letterhead.
- Student has served as a Resident Advisor, Orientation Leader, or Intern other than his/her home college.
Student must provide documentation from the Dean of Student Affairs stating college position held. Documentation must be on University letterhead.
- An immediate family member is commencing from an elementary school, middle school, high school, college, or university at a time conflicting with UCSD student's home college commencement time.
Student must provide documentation from principal or dean stating the date and time of conflicting school's commencement. Documentation must be on institution's letterhead.
- Religious law prevents a student from attending his/her home college's commencement time.
Student must provide written documentation on official letterhead from religious leader confirming student's membership on the congregation and religious conflict.
NOTE: Students receiving an exception for #3 or #4 will be assigned to another college ceremony by the Reviewing Committee. Requests may not be made for a specific ceremony.
