From Study and Travel around the Mediterranean
to Involvement Closer to Home

At the beginning of my fourth year at UCSD, I got the most amazing opportunity to study abroad in Sevilla, Spain for four months. While I was there, I visited Morocco and the Sahara Desert. I never thought I would be able to travel throughout Europe in my undergraduate years.

Now I知 about to start my fifth year as a student in Eleanor Roosevelt College, and I知 really involved in school. I知 involved in CORE, the community service organization at Eleanor Roosevelt. I致e done projects for Habitat for Humanity. I知 the community service chairperson for my sorority. I have a passion for outreach to people who need a helping hand. I've enjoyed participating in UCSD's East County Regional Outreach Project.

UCSD has opened so many doors for me; it痴 unimaginable. I never thought I壇 be sleeping under a tent in the Sahara Desert. Next school year, I値l be an employee of the university as a Resident Advisor at Eleanor Roosevelt College. My major is Human Development, and I have a minor in Law and Society. Either I知 going to law school and/or will be working with children. I definitely want to help kids from disadvantaged homes who usually fall through the cracks. I want to give them a chance to fulfill their potential as citizens and leaders.
