Welcome Transfers!

Congratulations and welcome! You are now an officially enrolled UCSD student!! You’ve achieved much being accepted to UCSD and we want to help you to continue to set high goals for yourself.

The next challenge is to make connections on campus, define your areas of interest, get involved with community service, leadership opportunities or something you enjoy, all the while earning your Bachelor’s degree.

The information included here is hardly completely comprehensive, but it can begin to help you make the most of your time. You will find advice from former transfer students, a Long-Term Planning Guide and additional resources for your referral.

The ERC Academic Advising staff welcomes you to visit our “help desk” with quick questions (hours: Monday through Friday 1:30 p.m.-3:30 p.m.) or schedule an appointment later in the quarter to discuss your requirements, goals, and other related issues. We are located on the Third Floor of the ERC Administration Building. Call 534-9864 or contact us through Virtual Advising http://vac.ucsd.edu.

ERC Academic Advising Team

You’ve transferred into ERC and UCSD at a very exciting time. For the first time ever UCSD has on-campus housing available to transfer students in their OWN community. What does this mean for you? More services geared toward transfers with more understanding of what it means to be a transfer student coming into a major university, whether you live on or off campus.

There has been a tremendous effort by administrators to make a transfer’s assimilation much smoother into the UCSD system. Support from Transfer Student Services, Commuter Student Services, The Village at Torrey Pines, Student Affairs, Academic Advising and social clubs like Eleanor’s Transfers and Commuters or the All-Campus Transfer Association abound with activities and resources to make your two (or three) years exciting, fun, and rewarding. Get involved in club and leadership opportunities. Don’t be afraid to put yourself out there, socialize, and make new friends. Take advantage of these great resources that are specially created for YOU.

Make the most of your time here and remember to enjoy yourself!
