Regional Specialization Requirement

Three Courses from a Single Geographic Region


Students entering as freshmen must complete three 4-unit courses from one region. At least two of the three courses must be upper division (numbered 100 or higher). Two of the three courses must be taken for letter grades; the other one may be taken Pass/No Pass.

Transfer students must take two 4-unit upper-division courses from the same region, one of which may be taken Pass/No Pass.

Regional Specialization course lists are available through the links below. Courses not on the approved lists must be petitioned before taking the class.
