Satisfaction of the Entry Level Writing Requirement is a prerequisite for enrollment in MMW 2 and MMW 3.
The University-level requirement in English composition takes place in MMW 2 and MMW 3. During those two quarters you will receive intensive instruction and practice in writing on subjects drawn from course materials. There are also writing assignments in MMW 4, 5, and 6.
Advanced Placement test scores or transfer coursework will not exempt you from any quarter of The Making of the Modern World.
MMW can only be taken at UC San Diego.
